This is how Buzzing Bee was created.

In 2020, like many of us, I started a garden behind my house. I live in Saugerties, NY, and when I started with a very small garden, I only had five garden beds. Little by little, it has grown to ½ plus of an acre. When I was looking for what to plant, I found that Dahlias were different, unique, and they were the national flower of Mexico. I need it to grow them! As one of the main flowers I planted, along with a few vegetables. 

When I started, I didn’t know how to describe this feeling, but I found something that I love. It’s hard work dealing with the weather and the wait, nature, and the environment, but when you harvest the flowers and see something you grew and care so much about in your house and share with your loved ones, it’s priceless. With flowers, I learned that you have to live in the present because flowers generally have a very short life, and you have to admire and enjoy every moment you spend with them, as we should do in life, in this amazing area called the Hudson Valley.

In 2021, I decided to share my flowers by opening my first flower stand by the road. It was a very small shack made out of recycled pallets. It was rewarding to see how some people, who would soon become my customers, appreciated my flowers and left very nice notes, so I continued for the next few years.

After a few seasons of improving my products, I decided that I should expand my stand and went for a larger one. The goal was to offer more products, not just flowers 🌸. That same year, I stepped out of my comfort zone and entered my flowers in the Dutchess County Fair. I was surprised to win prizes for all the Dahlias I entered on that occasion.

With my experience, satisfaction, and dedication, I want to share with you my careful selection of products that my family and I have enjoyed, and working with my community, my neighbors, and soon with you. Here you will find: fresh flowers, sundries, bottled goods, artisanal imported food, pastries, gifts, gardening supplies, and much more.
